Role

The Vice President of Marketing (VPM) is accountable for Product Marketing and market strategies that position the company to achieve long term growth, while meeting annual revenue and profitability goals. The incumbent will lead teams responsible for creating, directing and designing integrated marketing communications programs aligned with business objectives and strategies for the kitchen and bath channel. The incumbent and staff will consult with business units to create media, advertising, and PR strategies to win business and work cross-functionally across the organization to ensure seamless execution of campaigns. This position is based in Wichita, Kansas and reports to President/CEO.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a key and active member of the senior management operating team.
  • Originates, directs, develops and implements new integrated marketing communication strategies and concepts to generate demand, targeted brand awareness, and customer loyalty for all brands across the kitchen and bath channel.
  • Prioritizes coaching and performance management efforts to have the greatest overall impact on business results.
  • Coordinates the involvement of sales support personnel, including customer support, service, and management resources, so that team performance objectives and customers’ expectations are met.
  • Analyzes market trends and recommend changes to marketing and business development strategies based on analysis and feedback.
  • Studies competitors' products and services with an emphasis of identifying value opportunities.
  • Gathers and analyze customer insight.
  • Explores ways of improving existing products and services, and increasing profitability.
  • Identifies target markets and develops communication strategies.
  • Prepares and manages marketing plans.
  • Prepares and adheres to marketing and communication budgets.
  • Oversees creation and delivery of press releases, advertisements, and other marketing materials.
  • Nurtures and enriches all external perceptions of the company and growth of market share.
  • Develops and executes a social media strategy to engage consumers and customers.
  • Liaises with other internal departments such as sales and manufacturing.
  • Produces reports to monitor results and presenting findings and suggestions to senior team.
  • Travels to trade shows, conferences and sales meetings.
  • Collaborates with sales to develop strategic partnership activities and implement the execution framework and strategic plan on identified opportunities.
  • Recruits, hires, and develops associates, utilizing company human resources guidelines and support resources.
  • Directs and supports the consistent implementation of company initiatives.
  • Proactively assesses, clarifies, and validates customer requirements and satisfaction by engaging key customer accounts in conjunction with sales personnel. Provides a management-level point of contact for key customers. Builds and maintains strong customer relationships.
  • Builds peer support and strong internal-company relationships with other key management personnel.
  • Participates in professional organizations and activities related to the kitchen and bath and retail industries in general and the marketing profession in particular.

Requirements

  • Results-driven and history of managing highly effective marketing teams within a high volume, detail-oriented environment through the efforts of a team.
    • Proven team player; balancing team and individual responsibilities. Prior experience in uniting team toward a common goal.
    • Demonstrated skills in organization, planning, prioritization and time management.
  • Knowledge of cost, quoting and margin analysis.
    • Measure and author reports, procedures and business correspondence.
    • Demonstrated ability to analyze systems and data and suggest appropriate solutions.
  • Understand new computer technologies and how to apply in the customer service area.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer knowledge: MS Office (Excel, Access, Outlook, Word, Visio) and 20/20 Design.
  • Project management skills: Ability to work individually or on self-driven projects, prioritize multiple and complete on time.
  • Work calmly under stress to meet project deadlines with extreme attention to detail.
  • Highly self-motivated and motivating individual: able to motivate others toward a common goal.
  • Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal skills; focuses on problem solving, conflict resolution, practical/logical approach.
  • Proven ethical behavior: treat people with respect; keep commitments; inspire the trust of others; work with integrity and ethically.
  • Strong computer knowledge and understanding of how to use technical knowledge.

Education / Experience

  • Required: Minimum of 10 years’ marketing management experience. Cabinetry industry experience preferred, but not necessary.
  • Knowledge of custom & semi-custom cabinet/wood manufacturing industry.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with social and digital marketing.
  • A MBA or Bachelor's degree in business marketing, economics or related field is preferred.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

  • Reports to the President/CEO.
  • Directly manages a team of seven to 10 associates.
  • Coordinates company executive involvement with customer management.
  • Works closely with Customer Service and Sales to ensure customer satisfaction, and high levels of field sales support.
